Flashback to the summer of 2015 when my mom and I were asked to go on a road trip with my aunt and cousin. My cousin was going to New Mexico to work for the summer and they had decided to make a trip out of it. In just a little over a week, we drove through and visited 10 states. Our plan was to drive to Las Vegas then circle back to New Mexico, while hitting other spots along the way. Though we made so many stops and I have a ton of pictures I could go through, here are just a few of the stops we made along the way.

We spent some time in Arches National Park in Utah. It was really cool and different from anything I have ever seen. Any of the National Parks we visited I could have spent a whole day at. One downfall was being on a time limit, since we had to be in New Mexico by a certain day and time. I would suggest checking and researching beforehand when parks close and planning out your time. We just sort of went for it and missed out on a few parks because of not planning ahead.

Then we had made it to Las Vegas. We spent the night there then woke up and just explored the area. We did play a few slot machines, but didn’t have much luck. After spending the first half of the day at Las Vegas, we made sure to get a picture with the famous Las Vegas sign then traveled to the Hoover Dam.

Once it started to get dark, we headed towards the Grand Canyon taking Route 66 and stopping at a few places along the way. The next morning after spending some time in the town we stayed at, we made our way to the Grand Canyon. This was probably my favorite stop during the entire trip. We got to spend most of the day their hiking and seeing different parts of the canyon.

Before dropping off my cousin we spent some time in Santa Fey, then we dropped him off and headed home. I got to see so much on this trip and I am so thankful I got to go. I also want to mention the few silly stops we made that turned into an obsession or maybe you can even call it a game for the entire trip. While driving through Illinois, we saw a sign not only for the World’s Largest Golf Tee, but also the World’s Largest Wind Chime! So we got off to see them as a joke, but ended up finding more and looking up other Worlds Largest. Here’s some of the “Worlds Largest” that we found…

One of my favorite places that I have cruised to is Half Moon Cay. It’s located in the Bahamas and is perfect. What’s there? Pretty much nothing but sand and a crystal clear ocean. We cruise through Carnival and I know not many, if any, other cruise lines go to Half Moon Cay. Carnival offers a few excursions, but if you love laying on the beach and swimming in the ocean, then you don’t really need to book one in my opinion.

While at Half Moon Cay, I do recommend getting off the ship ASAP. Being the first ones on the island gives you a chance to see it before it’s crowded with the rest of the people from your ship. It also allows you to get the best seats, since beach chairs are already put out and ready to go.

Half Moon Cay has been my favorite port, even though it’s just basically a beach. So far, it has been the most beautiful place and beach that I have been to.
